一、考點定位與做題順序

數量詞的坑常在「看起來都修飾名詞，謂語卻不一樣」。判據分兩步：先看中心名詞可數不可數（many/few 配可數複數，much/little 配不可數）；再看整個短語的主語中心詞是誰——a number of books 的中心詞是 books，the number of books 的中心詞是 number。

自編示意語篇共 12 空：many/much 類 4、a number of / the number of 類 4、few/little 類 4。語篇為自編示意，不代表真實材料。

解析

many/much 類 4 處：many notes、much water、Many of the cards were sorted、Much of the data was checked。可數複數用 many，不可數用 much，謂語隨中心名詞走。

number 類 4 處：A number of samples are ready（中心詞 samples，複數）、The number of samples is small（中心詞 number，單數）；A number of errors appear、The number of errors falls 同理。few/little 類 4 處：few readers、little time、Few of the pages were torn、Little of the ink was used。合計 4+4+4=12 閉合。

一個冠詞之差改的是中心詞，不是修飾對象：兩處後面都是複數名詞，但 the number of 說的是「數量本身」，所以謂語用單數。把 the number of 也配複數謂語，是本題最典型的錯。
