一、考點定位與做題順序

whether 和 if 都能譯「是否」，但可站的位置不對等：whether 能引導主語、賓語、表語、同位語四類名詞性從句，if 一般只進賓語從句。三處硬規矩——句首主語從句、介詞後面、直接連 or not——只能用 whether。

解析

主語從句 3 處：第 1、7、12 空都是句首主語從句，只能用 whether。賓語從句 3 處：I wonder、She asked、I am not sure 三處兩詞都可用。

表語從句 2 處：The question is whether…、The problem is whether…；同位語與介詞後 4 處：the issue whether…、the doubt whether…、It depends on whether…、They talked about whether…，介詞後一律 whether。合計 3+3+2+4=12 閉合。「whether or not」直接連用不能換成 if or not，這一條在題2 單獨考。

判據兩條：從句在句中充當什麼成分；前面有沒有介詞或緊接 or not。只記「whether 更正式」會在主語從句上直接錯。

解析

誤收 ②⑥ 兩處賓語從句後，命中變 9+2=11 句，誤判率 = 2/12 = 16.7%（分母固定為 12 句，不是 9 句）。回代核驗：9 + 2 = 11；12 − 9 = 3 句正是兩詞皆可的賓語從句，3+3+2+4=12=12 四類閉合。

再驗判據：⑤「depends on whether」的 on 是介詞，介詞後不能接 if；②「wonder if」後面是賓語從句，兩詞都行。位置一換，可否替換就變。

答案　只 whether ①③④⑤⑦⑧⑨⑩⑪；按樣本表命中 9 句，誤收 2 句後 11 句，誤判率 16.7%
